Best normal college major for aspiring executive chef?

Alright I really want to be a chef. However, my parents are making me go to college no matter what. That's not a big deal, but I want to make my time in college benefit me in my culinary career as much as possible.

So what majors should I take? I have heard that finance or business management would be good to take. Any advice

A "chef" IS a business manager that clearly understands cooking and food production.

IMHO, go for business management and work in an independent restaurant while you're at the university/college, preferably one that you think you may want to run someday.

The culinary training is relatively easy to obtain during or after your college degree.
