why the irony, chefedb? germicides have their place - if i fall and get a nasty scrape with dirt from the street in it, i disinfect - if i get bronchitis i take an antibiotic, and hope the negatives won;t overwhelm the positives. If i take the subway, i just wash my hands with soap, not with germicides. There is no need. Using more than soap would be paranoia, to my way of thinking.
I'm not a fanatic and can't afford to buy organic food all the time, and would buy it more often if i could afford it, but not all the time if it were inconvenient, and sometimes i eat junk food. My friend who is an epidemiologist, and studies work hazards (pesticides, other chemicals, and their effects) never buys anything non organic. Maybe she knows something I don;t know.
Yeah, i go into chlorinated pools though the chlorine and other germicides do bother me, my eyes, my nose and the smell on my hair afterwards is pretty disgusting. I take a shower after. and while i used to love to put my feet in the xray machine at the shoe store, i would not do it now! But those mothers who wouldn;t let their kids xray their feet were considered really paranoid back in those days!
