Hi everyone

Sorry I have been MIA but it is all good...  I have started spring cleaning and our bedroom was the first victim of my newest task.  I mamaged to put together three bags of clothing for charity and the first one to call to arrange a pickup gets it all.  I also went through my sewing stash and OMG I do not need to buy fabric for a very very very long time.

Work is about the same... well you know how it goes, same stuff different pile.  I had a sit down with the owner and the FOH person Thursday and I suspect that meeting did not go as they had planned.  Instead of me taking the heat I had ideas as to how to improve things and what we need to work on going forward (and yes I am not as stupid as I look...LOL) The owner actually came to me at the end of the day with our period end financial report  and asked me if we could work on getting only one delivery a week... I agreed to give it a try and I need some time to re-arrange the dry storage area in order to make it work.

Today I went to him with an issue (I had a cook lie to me and I am not one who takes being lied to well at all.. just askl my kids) and he was all about that I am hitler and am a nazi in the kitchen when in reality I want the guys to do what we are paying them for  aka their jobs... not sure how that makes me a nazi but whatever...

I am off tomorrow... we're going to TO to have lunch with a good friend then we're shopping in Chinatown... hubby is "camping"  aka drinking copiouos amounts of beer, eating greasy food and breaking wind  with the guys until Sunday so it's me and the kids this weekend.  They do this every year and this year is the first time he has been able to go since our son had his brain tumour.  It

just happened that his shunt would fail around this time and hub wanted to be here with us rather than go away. Next year our son will be old enough for le weekend...  he needs to be legal drinking age in order to go and he has waited all his life for the chance to go.

Hey Leeniek,

Good to hear from you and glad all is well.  I know what you mean about the cleaning bug as I've had it for the last few days and binned so much stuff it's ridiculous.  But it needed doing and the mood only comes once in a while.  Bonus.  Shower has been scrubbed etc etc all the droll stuff that you know needs doing but can't always get to it :)

Hey with your job, they should be glad to have someone that gives a hoot about making things work.  Sounds like there are some people there who are occupying space just to get a pay cheque.  I'm struggling to see how one delivery a week would work well for some ingredients.  Kudos to you if you can make it work without (a) Running out of some things, and (b) Having things spoil over the course of that week.  Sounds like an accountant is trying to run the place rather than someone who has half an idea of how things work in the real world.

Being called a Hitler and a Nazi really is not going to help things.  I'm amazed sometimes that you stay there from that and previous things that have have happened.  Good on you for persevering, but if they are looking to cut corners, which it sounds like, I wonder how much it is worth it.  Apart from your personal professional sense of how things should be done.

Hope your hubby gets rid of all his after-effects before he gets home hehe.

Thanks DC.  I have been looking around but so far the grass doesn't seem so much greener on the other side.  If the owners start to work together again I think things will greatly improve at work.  Things started to go south when they stopped communicating and the main owner has put far too much faith in what the FOH person says.  The KM and I both agree that before they even bring us into the picture the two of them need to work out their own issues and start to fix things.  We're going to try the weekly delivery thing... when I worked at the cafe we had a delivery once a week so I know it can be done.  If we run out of something we can always borrow it from another location.

Hubby was pretty tired yesterday and now he is getting a cold (oh joy).  I'm sorry but he is such a PITA when he is sick......

You're Welcome, Leeniek :)

Hey I think most men are PITAs during illness, but that's just my opinion.  Now all the blokes are gonna come in and say women are worse!   Serves him right, self inflicted.

It'll be great when your son can get out on next year's bash, it'll be a great experience for him. (Hope he's doing well).

For you - head up, chin out, and don't stand for any nonsense, as far as you can.

Cheers :)
