My Introduction

Thread Starter

This is my first time in a forum.  I'm not sure what to contribute so I will introduce myself.  I am Mary from Champaign, IL.  I raised 3 daughters and helping to raise one granddaughter.  We love to cook together when we can.  I learned from the best, my MOM.  Then I learned in college.  I went to BYU and graduated in home ec ed.  It took about 15 yrs but I finally got to teach. I taught high school cooking classes.  I loved teaching, but grew tired of the quality kids I got and the politics.  Left to be a truck driver with my husband, got in a serious accident in June and now I am disabled.

I would love to contribute, but I mostly do good old home basics.  If you need help in that area, let me know.  I am really good.  My daughter (30 yrs old) that lives with me tells me the stuff we have in the kitchen or the leftovers that are available and says "Mom, work your magic".

Hello and welcome to Cheftalk, Mary.

We have members from around the globe (I'm Scottish, for instance) and all levels of culinary ability, from those just starting out to masterchefs - and all points in between!  Feel free to join in on any thread you find interesting, or start your own in the relevant forum.  The only proviso is that the professional fora are read-only for those of us not in a culinary trade - but they make fascinating reading!

The wikis, blogs, reviews, articles and photographs on here are great, too and well worth spending a while looking through some of them.

Sorry to hear that you are disabled - but at least you can still cook - so there's always a silver lining!!!
