Frozen Bananas

Thread Starter

I am trying to make an old time favorite of mine, chocolate covered frozen bananas.

I can't get the chocolate to cling to the banana.

What am I doing wrong?

That is weird.  What kind of chocolate are you using?

It will be easier to figure out what you are doing wrong if you post the procedure that you used to make them.

Nestles semi sweet chips.  There is a recipe on the back for melting them in the mocrowave.  I also pre froze the bananas prior to coating.

Don't prefreeze Bananna. And see if in the local market they sell chocolate cookie coating(it may be near fresh strawberry section)  Or ask at bakery counter in market if they will sell you some. it contains a small amount of starch and Edible Carnuba Wax  sometime  gelatins that makes it adhere correctly.

Hey Leggsmi,

Sorry you had problems with the bananas.

When you melt choco in micro go short on time, take out and stir. Don't go too far. You will need to add some butter or

oil. 8 oz. choco, add maybe 1/4 stick butter. Basically thin the choco.

You can freeze the bananas but they have to be dipped right away. Otherwise the ban will usually sweat and make it difficult to dip. This will also ruin your choco. Any amount of water will ruin/seize the choco.
