I agree with you 100%.  We also have Michelle Bachman, Sarah Palen, and any number of embarassments gracing our tv sets.  I have to say that the Donald, politics aside, is the worst.

Ya know, guys, the on/off switch works both ways. Nobody is forcing anyone to watch.

Sure, there are real issues, Joey. But do you really expect them to be covered by the so-called broadcast journalists? They see themselves as entertainers, not as reporters, and behave appropriately.

They also cover subjects they think they can turn into issues, whether they really are or not. Example: NBC did a survey, before the royal wedding, that revealed only 6% of Americans cared about it. Yet that hasn't stopped them from hammering the subject to death and beyond.

Did you happen to notice that the tornado damage in Alabama not only ceased to be a disaster, it seemingly never happened at all. Meanwhile we were shown Will & Kate's kiss----over, and over, and over again, ad nauseum.

So, yes. It's important to stay informed. I just don't think that happens if you depend on the TV for your information.

Unfortunately, the newspapers are almost as bad. Try this as an experiement. Read a major newspaper every day. Only read it exactly one year later. It's incredible how many of the burning issues they tell us about have absolutely no long-term meaning.  

One thing I willo say in regard to Trump. I am a native New Yorker. When I lived there we had a skating rink in Central Park that all the kids used  ,but was now closed for much needed repair.

    The Mayor at that time Ed Koch said the rink would reopen soon. Well 2 years later it was still closed and nothing of note done or completed. Trump got into an argument with Koch about the rink . He stated I will have  it completely restored and opened in 3 monthes way under budget.

    Koch and the rest of the political boys called his bluff. Well long story short It was done in less then 3 monthes and well under budget.  They all shut up from then on. He may be rough around the edges but he does not take crap from anyone and if he says he will do it, he will..

     And as far as a negotiator, No one can top him. He surely can't be any worse then the rest of the field we have standing in the wings. He raised 3 great polite kids, none of them spoiled, he made them work and they still do. I would consider him over a lot of the others. It is also bout time we get a business man running the business of government, not a career politician or lawyer.

Hi all, I remember back when Bush was doing his last lot of campaigning, he called the crowd some thing like a F*#&^%$ bunch of stupid idiots, it was only 1 of many that were shown on the National news channels here in Australia. We asked an American girl we travelled with how any one could put their faith in some one like that. She didn't know what we were talking about, your TV channels are obviously censored.

As for DT....we get graced with his presence on the apprentice. That's enough for now. As for him saying that he will teach the Chinese who's boss. If China called in their debt, America as a whole, would be bankrupted just after paying back 1/3 of the debt to them. I have it on good authority that comments like that will almost certainly inflame a highly sensitive issue that is brewing behind the scenes. If he can keep the country from being bankrupted and then from messing up the free world economy I will kiss his feet, but at current predictions America can not begin to repay a single cent to China for 50 years.

China have kindly agreed to this.... and from some one in a country a long way away, please be more careful.

Trump is a much disliked person in Scotland.

He intends to build a golf resort, in an area of SSI - aided and abetted by the Scottish government.  He makes much of the fact that his mum is Scots.  We can do without him here.

But still no one knows the actual reason of so much hatred.

People are jelous of him. He comes on strong and when dealing with some of these countries that claim to be our friends and take our money, thats the way they should be handled. As we have seen diplomacy does'nt work. He is like Truman and Truman did not take any crap from anyone.
