I have another question,

 

 

What is the one thing you have always wanted to grill but never had the chance to ?

Hmmmmm... I can think of a lot of things I haven't grilled--snake, capybara (a South American guinea pig relative that weighs about 100 pounds), kokoretsi (coiled intestines and other offal), but mostly because I DON'T want to. Not a cop-out, but I'd have to say I've grilled pretty much everything I've wanted to over the years, including sea urchin roe and mashed potatoes. But you never know what's over the next horizon!

Petals and Coco, I gave some more thought to your question about what things haven't made the cut--haven't been published in my books, I mean, and I remembered sea cucumbers, grilled chitlins, grilled spleen, and grilled intestines!

Oh gee Steven,

 

    Sea cucumbers, grilled chitlins, grilled spleen, and grilled intestines....esp. sea cucumbers. "....."...."...

 

Even the other items you mentioned previously, well , I am with you , I wouldn't give a second thought to grilling them to. In fact there are some things I wouldn't mind trying to grill myself.

 

I don't mind trying anything once, and if it tastes good , well then all the better. I was brought up in a French Canadian home where we would gather and cook together, play music and sing (many times we would just get up and dance across the kitchen floor-still do), goodness music is such a part of my life. I enjoy good music when I am cooking and eating.

Do you enjoy music with food and if you do what is your favorite pieces of music while cooking now ? I have been hooked on Melody Gardot's new CD  (listen every morning) .

Of course I also love Blues and just about everything else under the sun.

Sounds like you had an idyllic upbringing, Petals! I, too, love music, and have been a rabid Bob Dylan fan for years. Grill on!
