Spice Rubs and Spice Blends

Hello Chef Raichlen,  Thank you for joining us, and hello to everyone else reading.  In spice rubs/blends do you use the commercial basic blends such as Chili Powder, 5 Spice, Garam Masala, Curry Powder, etc.  or make even those mixes yourself?

I prefer, ChefHoff, to make my own basic blends as they seem brighter and more flavorful. Recipes for some are in my book Sauces, Rubs, and Marinades.
