Pointers?

Hi everyone,

 

       I'm fairly new to the culinary arts world. I am currently a grill Opperator at waffle house.

(A great place to start out from what i hear.) Where do I get started? whats important to learn first? I have always had a talent for for cooking and preparing meals, but i want to turn the heat up a little. My dream is to become sucessful in the culinary arts world. PLEASE POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Find a Chef you respect and look up to. Ask to work for free for them in return for learning everything they can teach you. That's how I did it and I don't regret all those unpaid days of shit work. It was a great experience and it made me a good cook.

 

The only downside is you need to keep your paying job. Makes for long days and hardly any time off, but, it will pay off in the end.
