I love that this insane thread is still going three years after a person asked a question regarding their two year(or less) degree. Reading through I went through all the emotional stages of grief and then some, good thread lol

Emotional stages of grief? Mourning the death of the mother sauces? They died a long time ago...may they rest in peace.

This thread will never die.  ;)

 

But the concept of a mother sauce is still a good one otherwise we'll still be reinventing everything every time we have a new idea.

 

Like a chicken is a "mother" because we can fricasee, roast, etc.
