Hello all.

 

I'm new 'round here and figured I'd introduce myself. I like cooking (a lot) at home, usually for just me and my wife, but I never skip an opportunity to show off some of my culinary skills to friends and family ;) I'm no chef but I make a mean stuffed chicken breast and some amazing chocolate chip cookies! I am proud of my kitchen gadget collection and subscribe to the belief that no tool in your kitchen should be a uni-task-er (Alton Brown). Hopefully, I'll be a value to this community.

Hi Dan and welcome to Chef Talk! We can always use another home cook (as we both are) with a good sense of humor and a desire to learn as well as share. Be sure to explore all this site has: besides the discussion boards, we have cooking articles, reviews of books and kitchen equipment, wikis, photos and more.

 

With a name like "deepfryerdan", I can guess at what may be your speciality, but are there dishes you learned to make with the help of a mentor or family member? What are you hoping to learn more about, or learn to do?

 

The entire site is open to you for reading, but please don't post in the professionals' forums. There's enough to learn there just by reading anyway!
