What are the prerequisites for writing the ontario red seal exam. I have been a head chef for about ten years now and would like to write them. Thanks

If you are not a registered apprentice you may challenge the exam. You must contact the Ministry of training and they will send you a package. You must complete the package and the requirements then return it to them and they will decide whether or not you can challenge the exam. Hope this helps!

This link should be helpful:

The third graph down has links with loads of relevant information. I obtained my Red Seal certification by challenging the test as well, it's not an easy exam, but I studied extensively. When I wrote the test the CIA manual was of incredible value. Know your HACCP, and good luck!
