what is chinese layered sugar

Hi I have a recipe we have been issued by a client and it has as an incredient  Chinese Layered Sugar - what is this?

Pretty much slab brown sugar.

It is brown sugar that comes in 1 pound packages composed of 1 x 6 inch sticks of layered sugar.

Easily available in most Asian food stores. 

 

I use it in lots of Asian recipes.
