I like dandelion greens and cucumber with a stalk of celery. I play it by ear when it comes to amounts, basically: a bunch of dandelion greens, average-sized cuke and celery stalk and about 2-3 cups of water. Some lime juice adds a nice zing, or, if the spirit moves, I'll add whatever I have around that needs to be used up! My smoothie tastes a little bitter, I admit, but I am loathe to add sugar.

 

Please let me know what you think if you decide to try it!

Thanks!  Will another type of green work instead of dandelion?

Sure, just about anything you like. I use dandelion greens because they are so abundant, especially in my back yard!

Here's a good one that is incredibly healthy. The taste, however is something you will need to get used to. This is measured for the tall Nutribullet cup, so you will need to adjust accordingly if you are using something different.

 

Spinach: 1 full cup of freshly rinsed spinach.

 

Kale: 3/4 cup of leafy kale should be enough. I also add the remaining stems in the mix.

 

Blackberries: 1/3 to 1/2 a cup of blackberries to help mask the flavor of kale and spinach.

 

This has been my go to smoothie every morning for the last 6 months. Let me know what you think if you give it a shot!
