El Bulli is now closed! Which chef is gonna take the reins?

Hello everybody,

I'm the editor of The Upcoming, a new online magazine! This week we're going to write about the three chefs that we think might take the place of Ferran Adria to set new trends for haute cuisine!

Here's our first one - Heston Blumenthal - do you think he could do it? :)

(the other two will follow up during the week!)

I've eaten at the Fat Duck.

What about Jason Atherton, who trained at e bulli?

I booked for this Saturday at Pollen Street Social - I will let you know asap!

In the meanwhile we published an article about our second favourite candidate: Rene Redzepi

Contrary to Heston Blumenthal and the third one that we're going to reveal this Sunday, I haven't had the pleasure to eat at Noma

I had lunch @ Atherton yesterday - good but I wouldn't go as far as saying he could be the next Adria.

Plus the restaurant is so noisy!

Rene Redzepi of Noma, Copehagen is holding court in Denmark as the number 1 best restaurant, elected by Londons Restaurant Magazine ... Chef Joan Roca in Girona is number 2, Andoni of Mugaritz in San Sebastian  number 3  ...

However, there is a genius in Sao Paulo, Brazil, who jumped from number 18 to number 7 called Chef Alex Atala, restaurateur and chef of DOM ...

Heston Blumenthal is extraordinaire too ... However,  would it be a bit political incorrect to chose a London based venue by a London based magazine ...

Photo ... The Tomatoes ...

I love tomatoes, what Italian does not, however, could you select a photo, a bit more " in tune " to the vanguard ... and my fave chefs and a fave restaurant  ...

I could send a photo ... How do I go about this ...

The Fat Duck is not a London restaurant.

EL BULLI has been closed since July 31st, 2011.

I had written a thread yesterday on topic giving a view point ...

It could be RENE REDZEPI of NOMA in Copenahgen, JOAN ROCA of GIRONA CAPITAL in Catalonia, ANDONI LUIS of MUGARITZ in San Sebastian, The  Basque Country of Spain ... HOWEVER, I am inclined to believe that 2012 shall bring a new face, a new continent and an innovative use of ancient indigenious products. I am taking a LONG SHOT, FOR CHEF ALEX ATALA of SAO PAULO, BRAZIL who is the chef and restaurateur of D.O.M. He is a genius, alchemist and wizard ...

AND DOES ANY BODY ELSE WISH TO SHARE THEIR POINTS OF VIEW  ===  ON APRIL WE SHALL SEE THE LONDON MAGAZINE RESTAURANT POLLS ON THE BEST

THE TOMATOES ... POMODORI ...

please, select another foto ... I would prefer a chef with a thermomix doing the lambada verses tomatoes ... HOW about a foto of MADRID FUSION ... or A WONDERFUL SHELLFISH CASSOLA FROM SARDINIA ... OR COULD I SEND U A PHOTO OF THE DISHES OF ALEX ATALA OF DOM IN SAO PAULO ... HOWEVER, PLEASE CHANGE FOTO ...

HESTON IS A COOL DUDE, AS I HAD MET HIM AT MADRID FUSION SEVERAL TIMES HOWEVER, I DO NOT THINK HE SHALL BE SELECTED BY THE LONDON REST. MAGAZINE DUE TO POLITICAL FAVORITISM ... his candy shop website for reservations is extraordinaire too. HIS FRIED FISH AND CHIPS, DIVINE ...

THE FAT DUCK OF CHEF HESTON BLUMENTHAL is in BRAY ... not far from London ... still could prove to be political for LONDON RESTAURANT MAGAZINE ...

SINCE  I am a native ENGLISH speaker from Manhattan, I hope my threads are in both ENGLISH and SPANISH as I am writing them in ENGLISH.

I speak SPANISH better than I write it and understand it 95 percent ... PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

HAS ANYONE BEEN TO TICKETS OR 41 which are run by ALBERTO ADRIA in the city of BARCELONA ... both are tapa style, not sit down dine. ANY VIEWPOINT ...

HAS ANYONE EATEN IN MUGARITZ OWNED BY ANDONI LUIS IN SAN SEBASTIAN OR IN GIRONA CAPITAL AT CELLER CAN ROCA WITH JOAN ROCA ... OPINIONS ...

WHAT ABOUT TOM KELLER CALIF. and  THE NUMBER SEVEN = CHEF ALEX ATALA AT DOM WHICH JUMPED THE SLOTS FROM NUMBER 18 IN 2010 TO NUMBER 7 IN 2011 ... THIS CHEF IS EXTRAORDINAIRE  ... has anyone been to SAO PAULO, BRAZIL to taste test the wizardy

Honestly, I do not believe so because LONDON RESTAURANT MAGAZINE shall appear politically incorrect ...

I do not know Jason who is a disciple of ADRIA ... Sorry ... He has a trillion international disciples worldwide ...

Grant Achatz I think would be a suitable replacement from Alinea but he has his own restaurants.

Thanks,

WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING?

Bray is not London.  It is outwith the London postcodes - and I suspect the people who pay a fortune to live in Berkshire wouldn't thank you for calling them Londoners.

So, If you haven't heard of Jason Atherton, a protegee of Adria.....

Adria has uncountable disciples who have trained under him over the years from numerous countries. I do not know every single chef on the planet.

Chicago Chef Grant is quite an extraordinaire human being. However, I have not been in the Chicago in many years.

I am not an expert on the UK and I believe Heston was born in London. I share my living time between Italia and Spain.

Shouting ... Really ... Do not think so.

IF  YOU TYPE IN CAPITALS on the net, it is considered to be shouting.

Not my intention. We learn something new daily. No caps online.

Of course you can use capital letters online, where appropriate.  Just don't TYPE A WHOLE SENTENCE OR POST IN CAPS!
