Bonjour,

 

My name is Joel and although qualified I'm no longer a Chef but I still love to cook and innovate new dishes.

I'm from Scotland, but I 've visited Australia a number of times - I've got family in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Perth - and just love the Australian lifestyle!

 

Feel free to join in on any thread you find interesting, or start your own.  However, the professional fora here are read-only for those not presently engaged in a culinary trade.  The wikis, blogs, articles, reviews and photographs are well worth viewing, much inspiration to be gained from them!

 

Where do you live in Aus?  And what do you do for a living, now you no longer cook?

I live in Melbourne on the coastal side, 10 minute walk from beach. To answer your question, I'm now a filmmaker which is a big step away from cooking.  I've also built a pizza oven and plan on doing video recipes as soon as the weather is a little nicer here, maybe a month away.

Wow Joel!

 

Last April was the first Barcelona Film and Cook Festival, with a lot of films, documentaries, and famous chefs , Ferran Adria was the first day of the festival.

 

2 friends of mine they send a video art project about food, and they win the 3rd price.

Well that's an interesting mix, my two passions in one Festival! :)
