I LOVE CORN DOGS. I mean I just love them. However I have not eating beef or Pork in a sometime, so I have not had any for a while . However I just picked up turkey hot dogs. And these things are so great. I was wondering if anyone new a good Corn Dog Mix recipe or a god place to buy some. I saw a few online, but I wanted to pop in here before I wasted my money picking something random up.

Chefed has got it. I usually make dogs for the little one in the neighborhood. The kiddos like the sweet ones.

You can take vanilla cake mix or pancake mix. maybe 2 cups and mixin 1 cup of ground cornmeal. maybe 1 1/2 cup milk  and a couple of eggs.

Mix well. Roll your puppies in paper towel to dry them before frying.

Some places also put a bit of mustard in the batter. Mustard goes with Frank anyway

If you're having problems with the batter sticking, roll the dogs in a little cornstarch before dipping them in the batter.

Other than that, ChefEd's recipe is as good as any. Go easy on the sugar, though, or it will burn before the batter cooks thoroughly.

When I make them I mix 1 cup of cornmeal with half a cup of flour, a little salt, a scant tablespoon of sugar, and enough milk to make the batter the right consistency.

Try this one.... I substitute the sugar for a dark honey..... Pretty tasty.

Use candy apple sticks.

1 cup all-purpose flour

2/3 cup yellow cornmeal

1/4 cup white sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 egg, beaten

1 1/4 cups buttermilk

 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
