aspiring chef please answer

Today I made pasta for the first time. The meat came out great and to the spiceyness that I wanted but the pasta was overcooked and horrible. It was angel hair pasta and I lost track of time, now it tastes like soup pasta. I also made too much pasta and very little meat. Is it ok for an aspiring chef to fail every now and then. I honestly feel like a complete failure right now for screwing up on pasta.

Don't take it so hard! You don't think you're the only aspiring chef to ever make a mistake, do you? There's a lot to learn here, and a lot of good advice to be had.

And hey, your meat came out great, right?

I recommend that you re-post in the Food and Cooking Questions and Discussion Forum.

I know I shouldn't take it so hard but it's hard for me not to. I want to go to culinary institute of america and hopefully become a master chef with at least 3 michilin stars. And I just feel as if though failing is not an option for me.

Don't beat yourself up! It wasn't what you expected but next time you won't do what you did this time (or will do what you didn't) to make it right.

By the way, please post cooking questions in the general cooking questions forum. thumb.gif Let me know if you have questions. I'll move this thread there now.

Good luck! Keep trying--
