I have been cooking now for 5 months. I started out doing prep at a upscale wine bar but when some cooks quit I was on the line right away and have been working the line since. I turned 18 in may and really aspire to be cooking in new york city by summer of next year, I figured it would be good to stay with my restaurant for atleast a year. i feel like if I start my resume in new york it will open so many possibilities for me. anyone who has cooked or does cook in nyc that has advice for an aspiring cook would be great.
