Hey everyone! My name is Teresa and I have been food obsessed since I was 5. My dad was an old hillbilly from Masontown, WV who moved to Maryland about 10 years before I was born. He loved to try anything and everything in the kitchen. From steaming Maryland blue crabs with fresh ramps (wild leeks) we would bring home from WV to teaching me how to can/freeze/jar & pickle anything and everything he could. I love to create my own craving inspired recipes. I am just a cook how likes to experiment and I have only worked in restaurants but I have never officially taken any courses. Baking is my stress reliever. I bake cakes for family & close friends as their birthday presents. It allows me to create something special for them while I get dip into my imagination. I have made a Mandrake cake for my daughters birthday by combining cream cheese & baked brownies together and then sculpting the root by hand. My latest request was from my daughters best friend. She wanted vagina cupcakes for her 23rd birthday. I never laughed so hard while making a cake in my life. I'm sure that has to do with me being a little twisted. I truly enjoy all the hints, advice & recipes I have found on this site and hope to be able to contribute to this online community.

Hello Teresa! I laughed reading your post- the good kind of laughter! The mandrake cake (from Harry Potter, I assume?) sounds funny and the cupcakes.... well, the recipient must have been bowled over. Round Lake isn't terribly far from where I am, and I lived a bit closer, in Kenosha, for 18 years. You live in a beautiful area.

 

I hope you post your work here (although the cupcakes would be a bit over the top!) so we can see your imagination for ourselves. We have a photo gallery for that. Besides the forums and galleries we also have wonderful cooking articles, cookbook and equipment reviews, wikis and more. Your participation here will add leavening to the mix, so we hope to see you where when you can find time.

Teresa, I have just one question to ask - what the heck are vagina cupcakes?  Wonder if I should even think of Googling that one.

Thank you guys for the warm welcome!! 

Mezzaluna - I have a friends in Kenosha and I used to work in Franklin! This is a very beautiful area with all the lakes. There is always something to do! The Mandrake cake was from Harry Potter. My oldest daughter became obsessed with the movies when she was 18!! I was going to make her a "spellbook" cake but the Mandrake kept calling me. I will upload the Mandrake soon so you can  see it!

 

The Vagina cupcakes were so much fun and disgusting all at the same time. I found a youtube video by Chaos bakery in FL. and she "shows" you how to make them. I will post more pictures that I have soon!! I do have my ass cake up in the mean time! LOL
