I am home cook and would be master of all trades. I will try most foods with some exceptions. Mainly rocky mountain oysters, just can't make myself eat those creepy litter buggers. While looking for a recipe and found the site and was curious to check out the forums. I am a nurse.

I bought one of these just for making osso buco. I found myself using it for a lot more than just that. I make tomato sauce in it, chili, any excuse I have to bust it out, I do. I absolutely...

One of my first internet knives. Great blade. I mean *great* but the handle was a bit weird. Right now it just sits at the bottom of my knife kit.

I've owned one of these for over 3 years now, using it daily. I've never had to sharpen (grind) it, just an occasional run along a fine steel, and it's held a wonderful edge for everyday prep....

Not something I could bring myself to eat, either, Willie!
We have all levels of culinary ability on here, from those just learning to cook, through enthusiastic amateurs (I'm in that category) to masterchefs and other, allied professions. Our membership is also from around the globe which makes for a really interesting exchane of information, which I hope you will enjoy.

Hey Willie welcome. I am with you on the rocky mountain oysters. No way in fact I wonder how those became popular. We are glad to have you and it might be interesting to here some topics on Hospital food.
PM the mods if you have any questions.

Hi nicko,
Thanks for the greeting! I hope Chicago is treating you well. The ocean would always call my sould home if I left it myself but Chicago is the home of my beloved Blues Brothers! I do the shuffle made so famous but those funny men or as they said, " we're on a mission from god". Gotta love that line as well as the great music from the movie. Miss John Belushi he was a funny man. You are indeed a lucky man to live in chicago it is an old city with great history and one day I hope to visit myself with the family. By the way awesome grill man in the picture! My husband would love it. by the way all hospital food sucks and it always will. I had a surgery and had my meal delivered by the family from my favorite Italian restaurant. It is really the really the only strong memory I have from the whole experience. Food was good though. Hey silly question do you like Furi knifes? I just purchase two and they seem intially anyway to be good knifes. Taking too much of your time have a good day or evening whatever applies.
