Making Mashed Potatoes with Baked Potatoes

Quick question.  Is it advisable to make mashed potatoes with baked potato innards?  My kids love mashed, which I'll be making for dinner, but I also have some bacon (for potato skins) I need to get rid of since I opened the package a few days ago.

I do it all the time. In fact, I prefer it.

 

I back the potatoes, then run them through a ricer, and go on from there.
