career change

Hi Everyone,

I'm in my late 40's, after years in the Hotel industry I have decided to go back to school for a culinary degree.  I'm excited and nervous.  My goal is to have a small Inn/B and B that serves breakfast and lunch and then dinner a few nights a week.  I have started a blog about daily lessons in culinary class.  www.makingchef.com.  I hope I can keep up with both the blog and lessons as well.

Welcome to Chef Talk, Chefdarrylf. You'll be happy with what you find here, I'm sure: mentors, people who learn from your years of experience, validation for what you know, etc. Besides the forums we have cooking articles, reviews of equipment, cookbooks, etc., and more.

I hope we see you here as often as you are able, and that you find what you need here to make your move successfully.

Good luck!

Welcome aboard. It is fabulous that you have made a passionate choice to change a career with one that you love. Best of luck. I too, had moved to Europe in 1996 from my native NYC and I have never been sorry.

Happy holidays.
