Cusinart soup heated mixer

Thread Starter

I was given one of these this week. I just finished a potato, turnip, leek soup.

This may be the best thing or the worst thing I may have used. Anyone else have any feedback?

hi panini,

wow, was just thinking about you this morning.....happy holidays!

i agree, the cusinart mixer/soup heater is either the best or worst thing....a chef friend has one and loves it...i think it's a great concept if it truly works... a few questions for me would be...how hard is it to clean? did you like it? is it futzy to deal with? is the design simple or are there lots of little nitty parts to break? i usually find that the fewer moving parts something has, the better off you are.....guess it all depends on what you thought.....cusinart does have a good name, so there is that...maybe it's like the iphone and the ipad...the bugs, if there are any will get worked out with the next one.....buon appetito!

joey

i am such not a gadgety cook but give two thumbs up to this one...first time i saw it i just went 'duh', what took so long?.....it's an angled clear liquid measuring cup...

It's a blender not a mixer.  They were very hot (forgive me) during Christmas.  You may want to check reviews on Amazon to see if people like them and if they're still selling well.

700

They're currently priced at around $150.  FWIW, VitaMix sells a blender with similar capabilities; $650 retail, $600 street.

Personally, I think the feature is dumb for any blender, dumber still for a quality brand like Cuisnart; and dumb as dumb can be for an already ridiculously expensive VitaMix.  What's wrong with the stove?

Unfortunately, Indy, this thread is more than eight months old, and was Panini's last post on CT.

Oh dear BDL.  I hope he is OK.

I tend to agree with you, the stove is a fine implement for heating things.

But for a warm gaspacho?  Something to save using another pot?

But you are going to have a mess peeling and cutting veggies anyway,

might as well go the whole 9 yards.

(like washing two is a big deal - eh?)
