In another bowl, mix flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and ginger and then add the dry ingredients to egg mixture. Knead with your hands, adding flour (may need a little bit more than the above dosage) until the dough is firm and smooth. The mold like a ball, wrap in cellophane and refrigerate for ½ hour (or more depending on time available).

Meanwhile, in a paper or prepare a plan of the house. Cut the base of the house (a rectangle 10 cm x 12), sides ...
(2 squares with sides 8 cm), front (one block from 8 cm x 8 with an isosceles triangle of 8 and 1 under 5 sq cm), rear (one block from 8 cm x 8, up from an isosceles triangle from base 8 cm and 5 cm square ....
OOOOOOOoooooOOOoo ....!!!

For you will not tire of square centimeters and such .... Imagine a home where you have to cut all external walls, including the roof, paint and trim them .... piecing together coming home yyyy ...?????

Repeat for remaining with the other 2 balls of dough. If you have leftover dough, you can do with this cookies using a cookie cutter, koupat or your imagination. Do not forget to make some extra parts of the wall where you've been broken or destroyed during construction (something that happens very often, especially if you try to fix it with a kid ... can a tooth to fall accidentally onto the ....!

Bake in preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, until golden brown biscuits. Remove from oven. If some parts are a little deformed adjust them with a knife but still be warm and allow to cool thoroughly for about 1 hour

Construction and Decoration

Prepare the glaze:

Mix the icing sugar with the egg whites and whisk to make meringue.

Stick with the meringue all over the house, climb the walls of houses (allow about 1 cm around the base), but the platter where the setup "spread" icing sugar ...

No need to put a glaze to ensure its stability, as there is no difference ... Allow to harden in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 hours before the installation of the roof (the stick in the same way with frosting).

Let it harden again for 1 hour and then proceed to the design phase, giving full freedom to the imagination of children and yours .... If you can make your house Barbie Rapunzel, hairstylist, mermaid .. Do it! .xrisougenniatiko+spitaki+09.jpg

You can use melted chocolate, candies, chocolate chips, pieces of dried fruit, cereal, candy, etc. ...
Tradition says that we keep these homes decorations until Christmas morning. After Devour them!!

Haha always nice to see greeks on the site.  For those who don't speak greek though, leptakia means "2 little minutes"

I'm a cheater so I got a premade gingerbread house and all I have to do is decorate it.  Which reminds me, I better get started on my gingerbread house and my kourambiedes!
