Wish me luck guys

I am finally going on a job interview this morning  .... I know it's a weird time of year for someone to be hiring but with any luck who knows?

actually highlander, alot of restaurants hire  this time of year, as they need extra help for the holidays. a lot of the time they are so severely understaffed both foh and boh, that servers are washing dishes and cooks are made bartenders or waitstaff, which never works very well. i hope it pans out into something more than just a holiday gig for you...and of course, all the very best of luck to you.... or if you believe that it is more than  blind luck... then knock em dead!

joey

maybe this will help....it was told to me a very long time ago but never used by me......

when facing an interviewer which is intimidating you and making you so nervous you can't breath right, just picture them naked...if that doesn't work, picture them naked on the john! kinda levels the playing field i'm guessing....all the best!

Thanks for the encouragement .... actually I wasn't going in for a restaurant position as I have been out of a kitchen for several years now but this was for a electronics technician position .... actually I wouldn't mind trying to get into a kitchen part time at least for the holidays.

I've never tried picturing an interviewer naked before but for some reason this place decided to have 3 people there to interview and ask me questions ... I have had 2 people interview me at the same time before but not 3.

Everything seemed to go good, I felt like I was able to answer all of their questions to their satisfaction, so with any luck and the good lord willing I might finally be getting back to work.

Not a problem I am in a  constant state of confusion  crazy.gif

Things are looking promising, I hadn't been back home more than an hour or two when the manager called me and asked if I would be able to do a ride along Monday morning and to be honest in the 15+ years that I have been doing this type of work with several different employers this is the first time that I have ever been asked to do something like this.

And I'm like you as well, I actually like to work and being laid off for as long as I have has been hard and I am really looking forward to getting back to work ..... you know you hear a lot of people talk about how nice it will be when they can finally retire but I don't know ... I have been out of work for just over a year now and to be honest I think it's one of the most depressing times of my life.

But with any luck this just might be a really awesome Christmas present.

P.S.  I seem to remember you posting some pics of where you work ... a restaurant on a lake .. man I bet that place would be absolutely beautiful this time of year with the snow and all.

Tell me about it, I was one of those guys ... I was out of work for over 13 months, luckily my wife works and about the only bills we have is a mortgage, car payment and utilities, so I am definately grateful.
