Power Outage Interrupted Meringue Baking

Thread Starter

I am baking a meringue to make a pavlova, and 10 minutes into the 1 hour and 30 minutes baking time, we had a power outage.  After the power didn't come back for 10 minutes, I carried the meringue out to our motorhome, turned on the generator, and hooked up our toaster oven.  This is a relatively new toaster oven, and I've baked a lot of things in it, but never anything as finicky as a meringue.  Will this work, or will the interruption mean that I'll have to start over when/if we get power back?

I hope it worked. I felt for you because my whole day Tuesday was ruined by our power being off from 8:30 p.m. Monday to probably about 6 p.m. Tuesday. I might have done more baking before now if that had not happened, but I really would have felt bad if the power outage ruined a work in progress!
