     disregard the irony in my name folks. I am actually planning on becoming a chef though i do have a few questions I'm hoping someone can answer

 

1) what kind of schooling is recommended (i know many people self learn but school never hurt anyone) in terms of classes and the number of years it would take to finish the degree.

 

2)are classes hands on or mostly by lecture (sitting in a class room)

 

3)what is the average starting salary of a beginning chef

 

     i would really appreciate some answers so that i can prepare myself accordingly,
