How Do I Make Wine At Home?

My husband and I recently visited with our niece and her family.  Her husband is a "home brewer", making beer as a hobby in their garage with his friends. 

This got my thinking.  I would love to learn how to make wine at home. 

When I meet my husband's uncles back East, a large jug was brought up from the cellar.  That was the best red wine I have ever had in my life. 

I was wondering if anyone has made their own wine?  If so, could you share your techniques and recipes?
