I've only just started cooking properly, not just pouring sauces from jars and I love it but wish I had started sooner. I've read a couple of the posts here and really hope I'm not completely out of my league. My sister is the first of my family to start cooking food from scratch and that was after she got married so I'm teaching myself as I go from cook books.


Mostly I'm hoping you guys can answer my many food queries as a cookbook can only tell you so much. :-)

You'll find that our membership is broad - both in terms of geography and culinary ability - so you'll fit in very well!  Feel free to ask any question you think of - someone here is bound to know the answer.


The wikis, articles, reviews and photographs on the site are all well worth spending time to view - and a source of much inspiration to many.  Join in with any thread you find interesting, or start your own in the relevant forum.  Please note, though, that the Professional fora are read-only for those of us who are not currently employed in a culinary capacity (but it's still an interesting thing to snoop in them!)
