This is THE place to eat while in Honolulu!!

 

It’s not fancy, it hasn’t been “featured” on any networks, nothing fussy-stuffy at all.

Go up to the counter order your food, pay for it, get your plate, find a place to sit and EAT!!!

Or take it out if you like to maybe, oh I don’t know, THE BEACH!!! 

The last time my husband and I were home, I think we went here like three times, and not alone.

All of our family comes with us, or says, “can you bring me back….”, it’s that good man!!

Our favorite place is very similar:

They make great combo (chicken/pork) lau lau.  Not as many meat items as Young's (which I will have to try the next time I'm therethumb.gif), but a very similar menu.  Yama's is all takeout though.  It is in Moiliili, so it's great if you are down Diamond Head side and want to grab something.  They also stock frozen lau lau, so you can order to take back to the mainland.

 

Then swing by Champion Malasadas for desert!

What?? Not Leonard’s Malasadas?

 

We like Yama's too, but we think that Young's out does everyone!

I'll need to give Young's a try!  Looks like just a short hop from Costco.  Leonard's is good too.  Actually I like Tex Drive Inn in Honokaa on the Big Island for malasadas, but it is a tad inconvenient if you are in Honolulu.
