Greetings from NC!

Morning everyone! I just stumbled across this site, and have spent the last two hours browsing threads and decided that I really need to get in on this action.

I'm in the military, currently stationed in coastal North Carolina, and love to cook at home for my family and friends. I've been cooking since I was ten, so for close to 20 years now. Food is far and away one of my favorite things (good thing about the military though, it forces you to work those calories off!), and I love experimenting and especially enjoy cooking things and using techniques that are new to me.

I probably won't have a whole lot to contribute as there are so many incredibly knowledgeable people on here that know MUCH more than me, but I certainly look forward to learning from all of you!

We have all levels of culinary expertise here, so you'll fit in as much as anyone else!  We are also from around the globe, which can make for interesting topics, too.


Feel free to join in on any thread you find interesting, or start your own in the relevant forum.  The Professional fora are read-only for those of us (like you and me!) who are not presently employed in a culinary trade.  The wikis, blogs, articles, reviews and photographs are all well worth spending time to browse and can be a source of much inspiration, too.


I hope you will feel that we welcome everyone and will start to see your participation in threads you like!
