Looking to start a food truck in NYC area

I would like any info anyone can lend to my ears. I am looking into starting up my own food truck too but, in NYC! I have researched a bit then came across this site which is great! Some amazing info has been posted. I have acquired permits before as I worked for a permit expediting firm so I would have a contact there to help out, I think.

do you have a location picked out? My understanding is that will be your biggest hurdle.... since you say you can get the proper permits. I am also guessing you mean a cart, not a truck... This is NYC after all, and a parking spot for a truck is not easy to find.. at least one you can vend from. I had a friend who did this, sadly he passed on a few years back so I have no contacts anymore..
