Sorry I am not sure how to make the picture smaller. Anyways, I made cookie dough truffles over the holiday season and it was my first time ever making truffles. They tasted pretty good although I am looking for an tips or suggestions appearance wise. Since it was my first time making truffles I probably should have looked around for some tips beforehand but instead I leaped into it. I was just wondering if any of you have tips on how to make the truffles more smooth, and ball shaped. I got lucky and made a couple of nice looking ones, the others were lumpy so I used chocolate, and coconut to distract from the appearance.
are you shaping them by hand b4 dipping them in chocolate ? is your chocolate for dipping too thick ? did you try and stick them in the freezer (shaped balls) b4 you dipped them in chocolate ? I am just trying to figure out what could have been the cause..
don't worry about the size of the photo... I like big pictures.
I did shape them by hand before and then I put them into the fridge for an hour. I did find that I had to make sure the chocolate was pretty runny, therefore also pretty warm for better results. I was simply dropping the balls into the chocolate and using a spoon to place them back onto the cookie sheet.
