Would love some tried and true recipes for Red Velvet cake. Some with beets and some with food coloring. Only tried and true ones please so that I am not making disappointments. Could you used tomato soup in a Red Velvet cake and add other things?
I used the McCormick recipe but I made my own modifications. I used oil instead of butter, used buttermilk and added some sour cream, and I added less coco powder. It came out the way I wanted it.. Not brown, moist but dense..
