Newbie here!!!!!    I want to learn to make doughnut glaze like Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. The doughnuts are coated with a clear glaze that preserves the doughnut. The coating is sorta flaky and good. It is hard to describe the coating, but if you have had one you know what I'm talking about. I know you can buy ready to use glaze for doughnuts, but I don't need a 5 gallon bucket. I've seen 2 recipes one uses confectioners sugar, corn syrup, gelatin, salt and vanilla and its cooked. The recipe just says gelatin, do I use sheets or powdered? the recipe is cooked. The other recipe is water, sugar, glucose, powdered sugar and vanilla. It is also a cooked glaze. Where do I buy Glucose? is it corn syrup??

If you have another recipe to share please do, when I have used the water or milk and powdered sugar it just didn't work. The glaze soaked in the doughnuts and they were sticky and soft. Yuk!! Thanks so mcuh for helping me out!!!! :) :) :)
