I did the right thing...

Out of the blue I was offered a KM job at another location of the breaky chain I used to work for.  I was recommended to the new franchisees by my former KM as well as the head office trainers. 

I did consider it as it is more $$ than I am making right now but after weighing the pros and cons,.. I chose to stay where I am.   I have benefits, a company pension, three weeks paid vacation,. two paid personal days, and a bunch of  work perks off of venngo.com... yes I bang out deli pizzas every day and it can be mind numbing BUT... I really like the people I work with and for.

It was nice though that they suggested me for the job... it just made me feel good that they thought so highly of my work to suggest me....

For me the production kitchen works and I love working at the soup kitchen too...  

Thanks, l4b, and yes we both were struggling with career related issues last summer.  I certainly learned alot last summer and it was all about what I did not want to do... one place I trialed at I would have stayed at if the servers were not such certified *****es..  the cooks were great but the servers were horrible. 

How are things going for you?

Work is slow these last two weeks... spring holidays are starting and all of the food side is slow... I'm not worried though as I know my days of leaving early are numbered.  I'm losing my strongest person to a new department and while it means more work on me I am very happy for her.  She is more than capable of running her department and the last few months she has spent with me we have learned from each other.  She needed to learn to think like a line cook so I taught her to do that and she gave me some ideas too that I would never have thought of on  my own when it comes to working with new people so it was a good partnership all around.  I am going to miss her but we've already made plans to stay in touch oustide work.  We have alot in common and interestingly enough.. she worked with my husband years ago when he was in college and doing security to pay his bills...
