Maybe A New Sub-Topic?

Dear Chef Talk (Nicko & Crew),

 

I got to thinking the other day when chefedb posted an absolutely fantastic tip

about storing fresh berries, that we could really use a sub-topic within the

Food and Cooking forums of say, General Tips, or the like. 

I know that there is so much more wisdom floating around in ChefTalk world

that should shared before it's gone with the wind.

Nice idea.  I like it.

I don't think the traffic is there to warrant a sub-forum. Low traffic sub-fora just tend to clutter and confuse sites in general.

 

The point is to keep the tips together in an easy to find format. This could be done simply a couple of ways.

 

  • Tagged content  This is the most elegant solution from the standpoint of pulling together topics from multiple forums. It searches well and could be easily maintained. If you searched on the selected tag, say "Cooking Tips" and all the tagged content pops up.  Except the tagging interface and available tags are poor in Huddler. I'm told I can make miscellaneous tags, but it's never worked when I've tried it.
  • A sticky in the forums where tips are common. Tips could be copied in to this thread or linked in. Needs people committed to maintaining it.
  • Wiki Similar to the sticky, but in a different location and with  potentially a better structure and linking, but needs people committed to maintaining it.
