Hello from the California west coast!

I am a home cook. They say that a sign of brilliance is in knowing what you DON'T KNOW! So yeah, I guess I'm a brilliant cook because I have a lot of questions and learning to do.I have watched Food Network for years and finally stopped because all the information was repeating. So I guess I graduated from Food Network! The place that I am the most myself, the most comfortable and the most creative, is in my kitchen!

Welcome to Cheftalk.

The membership is broad, from around the globe and all levels of culinary ability, so there is much to learn and share here!  Feel free to join in on any conversation that you find interesting, or start your own topic in the relevant forum.  The Professional fora are read-only for those of us not working in a culinary capacity - but still make interesting viewing.  The articles, blogs, reviews and photographs on the site are all well worth spending time to view and can be a great source of inspiration.

I'm an enthusiastic amateur, too - and there are quite a few of us on here, so just feel at home!

Aloha musiksoup, welcome to Chef Talk

I'm with you, I use to watch FoodNetwork and CookingChannel

and now I cook more and learn more here

plus the fact that we moved to the "mainland"

where things are alot less expensive over HAWAII!!

But Cali is kind up there in prices too, right?

Anyway, you're goin' love it here

Welcome Musik, I think you'll find the knowledge here to be great as well as finding helpful folks that feel as you and I do about being in the kitchen.  There's a ton of information to be had here.

And Nicko that's unfair about the food network.  If it hadn't been for Emeril I would never have learned that cooking can be so interesting and so much fun!  Well, that and the fact that since I became divorced it was either learn to cook properly or spend my life eating Taco Bell! lol
