Does anyone have any good ways to keep soft shell crabs alive for as long as possible (without a fish tank!)?  Thanks.

It's best to clean them as soon as possible but you can keep them in the cooler in the box they came in with moist (not soaking wet) paper toweling over them. You may get as much as 3-4 days out of them.....and I do say MAY.....

Hope you don't have them on your body?  Seriously    Blue claw stay best a slight under 40 degrees in moist straw or newspaper . Check daily if one dies pull it out as the others will try and eat it an thenthey will get sick and die.Make sure they stay moist as refrig tends to dry out straw or paper Use a soon as you can because when you get them they could be 4 to 7 days old.

Clean and freeze if they start to look like their not going to survive. Frozen crab is a usable product. Dead crab is trash.
