A hello from New Mexico, USA!

Hi, there! I ran into your site via some sort of link somewhere and took a long look around. This forum seems more friendly and professional than others I have been on over the past 20 years, and I'm glad your program allowed me to join.

 

I am retired and live in the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains of northern New Mexico. Benn cooking mostly for myself for over 30 years, and have started a meals-on-wheels-type supper club up here in the canyon. Obviously, southwestern foods are a big portion of my recipe box, but most other major types of cooking finds their way into my kitchen as well. I also so a whole lot of baking, mostly cheesecakes, layer cakes, cookies and snack bars.

 

Anyway, thanks again for letting me drop in!

Hello and welcome to Cheftalk.

 

Yes, this is a friendly, open sort of site - and our membership is wide, both in terms of geographic location and cooking ability -- from those just starting out to masterchefs and all levels in between!  I'd place myself in the very enthusiastic amateur camp!

 

Feel free to join in on any thread you find interesting, or start your own in the relevant forum.  There are three Professionals-only fora, but I hope you won't restrict your postings to those three, as they are read-only for those of us who are not currently employed in a culinary capacity!

 

The wikis, blogs, articles, reviews and photographs on the site are second-to-none, and well worth spending time to view.
