Hey everyone!
New to the forums and look forward to getting to know you all.
But I'm law student who loves to cook. I typically cook everything from scratch (my dad's family grew up on a farm and when you grow up eating everything from scratch, anything out of a box just doesn't work...haha).
But today I picked a bunch of fresh wild blackberries and was wanting to try my hand at making a blackberry pie. I've never made a pie before, so I'm looking for a good pie crust recipe, as well as a blackberry pie recipe. I'm more concerned about the pie filling, because I've got tons of recipes for the crust. But I've made a bunch of desserts like cheesecakes, cakes, pumpkin rolls, cookies etc. But like I said, never made a pie and I know that many people have the pie-making down to a science.
The problem that I have with the crust recipes is that I want to make sure that the crust is right, and since I've never tried any of the recipes, I'm a little hesitant (I only have enough berries for one pie...so I can't screw it up). So if any have suggestions for pie crust or blackberry pie filling, I would greatly appreciate it!
