dear colleges,

 

Im am searching for original stew recipies from over the world. The kind of dishes your mom would make in a large stew pot at home.

We have a stewrestaurant in holland and the menu is now filled with stews from lets call it the warm countries ( its summer here) Marocco, india, brasil, tunesia and so on. For the wintermenu im looking for dishes from colder countries. Eastern europe, russia, norway, finland and off course my home country too, which is the netherlands. From my hometown i allready got a beefstew with gingerbread and beerenburg ( a herb liquer). I hope to hear from you all

Len,

Eastern Europe, wow Borscht a lot of variants both hot and cold, pork and kraut, beer cheese bratwurst from Germany, had what we used to call a boiled dinner as soup in EU, roasted root veggies, cabbage and smoked sausage (kielbasa)  Gumbo, Chowder, and Chili from the US.

 

All are stew like, very hearty and filling and can use meat substitutions seafood, meat and fowl.
