Hello all,
I just found the ChefTalk website today. I love finding another active forum with restaurant owners, chefs and other culinary professionals. I myself am a food service consultant and owner of a home chef service that operates in the Kansas City and Wichita metros in Kansas and Missouri. I got into consultant by request from past coworkers who moved up in their careers and saw a need for one special skill or another that I have. The chef service was something I started 5 years ago as a part time job to supplement my consulting career, but quickly grew to my main focus. I participate in a couple other active restaurant owner forums on other sites, but I'm not sure if it is kosher to mention them here. I also author my own blog which is republished several other places around the web. Occasionally, I get asked to do an interview in an industry magazine or website article, and I've had mentions in two published books on the restaurant industry.
I look forward to offering some honest help without trying to sell myself. I get just as annoyed at vendors pushing their goods on forums as everyone else does. I also look forward to learning everything I can from all the operators and chefs here!
