Mahalo, K~Girl

It's is amazing how the impact of that day has resonated through, and how it's effects impact daily life today, in so many ways. I was living in Va Beach at the time, toweling off after a morning session in chest high, glassy conditions(AMAZING for east Coast Surf), had the TV on when it was interrupted by the shot of the first tower, and the coverage started. Was on the phone with my mother when the second plane impacted the other tower. . . it didn't take long to figure out that this was NO accident. . .man, what a day.What. A. Day. We never opened for service that night. We organized a bus, with all of the tools, and food we could muster, and Bob(my boss and buddy)started making the drive up, where we could feed those that needed feeding, and even though it got to the point where it was just sandwiches, and chips, a LOT of folks were fed, and were ever so grateful. What a humbling experience.

RIP to those lost, and my thoughts and prayers go out to the families effected/survivors, and first responders. I feel as though the real victims are the survivors that still haven't "come back" from that day, some never will, and those that are still so effected by the horrors of that day.

I hope that one day, we can function and work together as Humans, undefined by race, creed, color or religion. If all the energy that is put into hate, could be put into something useful for humanity, imagine what we could accomplish. . .might be the Hippy Pipe Dream side of me, but I still think it's a dream worth having.
