New to Culinary and looking for externships

Hello,

 

I am new to the industry , but i have a huge passion for food. I made a complete careeer change from Finance to Culinary Arts . I am currently attending Le Cordon Bleu in Orlando. Looking for externships is a lil frightening bc there is such an array of choices. Can someone lead me in the direction of awesome places that I will learn alot of vaulable information. My goal is to own my own catering company or my own restaurant. what avenue is best for externship?

Hi Slabrada

 

Just saw this post and it certainly hits a chord for me as I have decided to make a drastic change in careers as well - also leaving finance for the culinary world. I have similar aspirations as you so I'm curious how things turned out after graduting and where you did or are doing your externship...

 

Hope all is going well and would love to hear the update.

Well I have yet to graduated. As I got more involved, it was easier to start networking. I have officially put my two weeks into my professional job and finally making the transition into the culinary world. I have been hired on with a catering company in town. I'm extremely excited to be starting . Its for a prep cook position. I'm excited to finally get my hands dirty in the kitchen.. :-)

Now what about u??
