Christmas Cake

I am wanting to make a red and green cake for Christmas but I DO NOT want to use food coloring.  Does anyone have any suggestions for what I might be able to use?

There are cake recipes that use beets for red coloring.

Candied Arnica was used as the only natural green over 50 years ago in Germany

.I have not seen this in ages and am not sure if it still is available

Every smoker quits smoking sooner or later!

Only the smart ones are doing it while they are still alive.

Candied angelica, bright green.  I know it's commercially available, but very expensive.  I candy my own, as I  do with ginger and citrus peel.

 

Dried cranberries are a nice red, as are dried cherries
