I live in a town of 3,500 people. Very busy in the summer and dead in the winter. I would like to start a meals to go business. I have found a commercial kitchen to rent and would offer 3 dinner choices per day. My idea is to have customer call or email their order the week prior to pickup (there would be 2 pickup locations) Has anyone done anything like this? I would appreciate any thoughts or ideas.

I'm running something similar, though in an entirely different part of the world .. i guess mine is more conventional. It's a delivery joint where people call in to place their orders. I'm operating in a rather huge town, with loads of other competitors .. but i do know that you can expect to hit around $500 dollars in daily sales, from just your current population.
Do, do your maths before operating such a venture. To see if it's feasible or not.
