Had a meal in Iceland, they served the food in jars.

1 - Lamb tartar.

2 - Smoked whale.

3 - Some kind of "puffin bird" I don't know too much about.

Same stuff but on the bottom is fish jerky - about like eating a fist full of stale straw and fish dust got all over when I tried to eat it.

CDF,

That is an interesting way to serve food. Can you tell me how the puffin tasted ? What is it similar to ?

Petals,

Puffin kind of reminded me of kipper snacks.  Gamey and fishy.  But then the whole meal was gamey and fishy, and once you took a bite of the fish jerky that's all you could taste and smell.

They did not keep the food in the jars, just served it that way rather than on plates.  Interesting.

I am sure they served their yogurt like mainstay          Skier   when I was their it was like the national food.
