First Meeting at Potential School Tomorrow

Thread Starter

So tomorrow is my first meet at one of 4 potential culinary schools.  Needless to say I am super nervous.  I'll be going to Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts in Vancouver followed by Vancouver Community College next week.

I have been doing a ton of research over the past few months (as I have been off work) and hope that by actually going in to speak to a director and taking a tour will help me narrow down my search.

Wish me luck I might need it licklips.gif

Make a list of questions for them, don't let them ask you all the questions. Like when I graduate what kind of position should I expect and what is average wage for average graduate ? Where are some of your grads working?

Thanks so much for the helpful advise.  I have tons of questions already written down to bring with me & will be able to brainstorm more during the hour long public transit ride lol.  Will be very important to know if this school has connections with a variety of businesses in the industry located closer to where I live (as I do not live in the city).  This school also does not offer work practicum so I'm curious to see what extra bonuses their program might offer due to this.

Good luck Missy. Most people look at the fact that you completed school. They all teach the same basic fundamentals. Have fun at school. If you have passion for this field people will se it

Thanks so much

Met with 5 different schools over the past few weeks and think I have made my decision now on which one to attend.

Super excited & can't wait!
